5-0 Interim Permits Pass!!

Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously that it “is in the best interest of the County of Humboldt to allow for issuance of an interim permit to applicants seeking local approval of existing lawful cultivation sites established prior to January 1, 2016, and who have filed a timely and complete application with the County for a commercial cannabis land use permit.”

For those cultivators who submitted a complete application, the county will reach out to you within a couple weeks with a Compliance Agreement for you to sign.

Please be aware that the Compliance Agreement is legally binding; if the Compliance Agreement is violated, then the entire cultivation permit can be revoked.

Your cultivation will be enrolled with the SIPCA Track and Trace program.

And the County Cultivation Tax (which is an “entitlement to cultivate”) will be due in early 2018, for the 2017 permit authorization.

Upon signing the Compliance Agreement you will be granted an Interim Permit, which is the “other authorization,” you need to apply for temporary licensure with the state on January 1, 2018.

Coastal Zone Protections

The Board also voted to unanimously adopt the prohibition of all cannabis activities (cultivation, manufacturing, processing and distribution) in the coastal zone until the Coastal Commission certifies an ordinance and its regulations, which is estimated to be in summer of 2018.
