HCGA Board Chair
The HCGA Board of Directors will be electing one new member to the Board of Directors. We are seeking board members who believe in HCGA’s mission, who have strong leadership skills, envision a sustainable and productive cannabis industry in Humboldt County, the state and beyond.
We expect our board members to be innovators with open minds who are committed to being respected ambassadors not only for HCGA but the Humboldt Cannabis community as a whole.
Board Member Responsibilities
HCGA is structured to have a governing board, not a working board. We consider this board position to be a ‘choose your own adventure.' What this means is you may decide to attend only the required four board meetings a year to govern the organization's strategic vision making and financial oversight; all the way up to working on every committee.
Below is a quick glance of board responsibilities. The bylaws are posted online at hcga.co.
Board meets a minimum of once every quarter
Each Director will hold office for a term of three years. After three years the seat is opened up to the election process, an incumbent Director may re-apply.
Board members must be willing to include photo and bio for the website.
Board members must sign a code of conduct.
Board members must be members of HCGA.

Any officer may resign at any time by giving written a notice to the Board of Directors and or to the E.D.

There shall be no fewer than 3 (three) and no more than 11 (eleven) directors.
The Board of Directors will appoint new directors as needed and/or when seats open.
Any vacancies caused by death, resignation, removal, disqualification, or otherwise, of any officer may be filled by the Board, if and when necessary.
Officers of the corporation are Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Officers are elected by the Board of Directors and serve one–year terms.
Recruitment of members is of high priority.
