On August 20 and September 25, the state-level Cannabis Advisory Committee (CAC) convened to consider potential future changes to state cannabis regulations. CAC recommendations are non-binding, but have the potential to influence future state cannabis regulations, which may be considered as soon as next year.
HCGA submitted extensive comment on regulatory topics including access to trade samples for cultivators and manufacturers, improvements to track-and-trace, shared areas for processing and immature plant space, the ability to freely share seeds and clones, and increasing flexibility the licensing structure. This fall, HCGA will be updating its regulatory platform to submit to state regulators in anticipation of potential changes to state regulations. Please check Slack for more information on participating in working groups to help update HCGA's regulatory positions on topics related to cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, labs, and retail.
